When she fought to replace the "ORs" with "ANDs" in her life..

Every human being has the freedom to follow his/her dreams and choose to do what he/she is passionate about. Religion, caste, color, tradition, gender and superstition should never serve as an obstacle in anyone’s life.

Future of a person should depend on his/her capability and not on the above factors.

In this post I want to highlight the case of one of my friend, Ruchi who fought for her dreams and finally achieved them with flying colors.

Ruchi was the youngest of all her siblings who included 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Her father owned a grocery shop and mother was a housewife.
Her parents were quite simple but the family at her mom’s side was quite aggressive and dominating.

Her Mamas were into politics and believed in violence than peaceful negotiation.
Also they were quite narrow minded and used to treat women of their house badly.
For them woman only had 6 labels throughout her life.
#Cook   #HomeCleaner  #Housewife  #SexObject  #ChildProducer  #ChildCareTaker

Ruchi was born and brought up in Mumbai and hence she was an independent and ambitious girl who loved freedom. During summer vacations she along with her mom and other siblings used to visit her Mama’s place which was in Uttar Pradesh. When she was in school things were fine as she was small and used to listen to her Mama but things changed when she entered junior college.

All her friends were now serious about their career and also motivated her to choose one.
Most of them suggested her to join the aviation or hospitability industry as she was damn good looking, had charming personality and great articulation skills.
After pondering on their suggestions and also discussing with her favorite teachers she finally decided to give it a try.

She told her parents about her decision and asked for their consent.
In starting her parents were a bit worried as she would be away from home most of the times travelling to places which won’t be safe for her but finally were convinced.
One week before the interview of Indigo, her mamas suddenly came to Mumbai.

She was sure that her mom had casually informed them about the interview but didn’t think about the consequences.
As they entered the house one of them slapped Ruchi and asked her mother to send her with them.

According to them she had forgotten all her customs, traditions and sanskars , gone out of hand, hence it was necessary to bring her back to line.
From now on she will only learn household work were their clear instructions.
Her mother was too frightened to protest but Ruchi was ready for such situations.

She called her friend at once whose father was a police inspector and complained about the physical and mental harassment her mamas had caused her.
For a second her mamas were shocked to hear her words.
Though they were into politics in Uttar Pradesh but in Mumbai they were just a common man.

Police came in no time and were going to arrest them. Frightened they asked for forgiveness and promised never to interfere in her family matters.

Ruchi gave them one last warning and requested police to give them a last chance.

Finally her big day came.
She gave interview of 3 Airlines and got selected in all of them.

Today she is a senior cabin crew member who is enjoying her life to the fullest.
Not only her parents but also her friends like me are so proud of her.

She is an inspiration to all those who wants to free themselves from different labels given by the society or family members and live their dreams.

She is above all labels...My Mom !!!

She is the one who has brought me into this world, taught me the principles of life and made me understand the difference between right and wrong.

She is the one who has comprised and sacrificed her pleasures so that I can enjoy mines.

She is the one who can feel my pain, my sadness just by hearing my voice.

She is the one who is in tears even if I get a small bruise.

She is my everything, a friend, a teacher, a girlfriend, a critic and most importantly my
well-wisher.

She is none other than my “MOTHER”.

It’s a great honor for me to write about her and describe the amazing personality she is.
Thanks to Blogadda and Gillette for giving me this opportunity.

My mom was interested in painting from her school time.
She had won lot of competitions and was a renowned face of the institute wherever she studied.

When she got married there were some problems in the family because of which my father had to separate out. He was still studying M.D and source of income was just the stipend which he used to get from the college.

Somehow he managed a rented flat, not really a flat but just a room which was partitioned in middle by a curtain to separate out the bedroom and kitchen.

After a year of marriage my elder brother was born.
There were multiple responsibilities on my mom now.

She had no time to follow her passion which was painting.
A new home and a new dispensary of dad were the top priorities.

2 years later I was born and hence came more responsibilities and pressure on her.
She devoted her complete time in taking care of me and bhaiya
.

For the next 10 years she was happy to be labeled as a supportive wife, caring mother and a responsible housewife. Till that time we got our new home and my father also purchased a new place for his dispensary. It was then, when my father motivated her to start painting again. He decorated the new house with her paintings which she made before marriage.

First it was difficult for my mom but slowly and steadily she got her touch back.
Her first exhibition was put in the yearly program of our community. There was none who passed by without appreciating the art on display.

After that there was no stopping for her and today she is counted among one of the renowned painters of Indore.

Whenever I get an opportunity to visit her exhibitions which I mostly do, it feels proud to be a son of such a great artist.

When I failed to impress her Dad...

I was going to meet my GF's dad.
It was a big day for both of  us. Her father was reluctant to meet a guy from a different community but finally after so much of persuasion he agreed to meet me.

I was having a very hectic schedule and because of that I didn't got time even to shave my face.
But for me it was a daily routine so I didn't cared much about that and reached my GF's home.

I was greeted my her with a puzzled and angry face as if I had committed some crime.
Anyways she escorted me to the dinning table where dinner was ready to be served.
Her parents, sister and niece all were waiting for me.

I greeted her parents and took a seat.
Her father asked me about my hometown, job and future plans.
I confidently answered all his questions as this was the most important interview of my life.

While we were having a conversation on meeting my parents some of the part of my beard got soaked in the soup that was served.
My GF's niece started laughing. It was hell lot embarrassing.

After finishing the dinner when I was leaving for my home my GF didn't even cared to escort me to the main gate of their society.

I took a rickshaw for my home. When I saw myself in the mirror of rickshaw I was scared for the first time.
A full grown beard was hanging like some bird's nest.

Next day my GF called and said Dad didn't liked you much, he was saying you wanted to marry a junglee like him. So remain happy with your beard and don't talk to me.

I said sorry so many times and promised her that on next meeting with her family I will come well groomed, Without wasting a second I quickly purchased Gillete shaving kit.
The day of meeting came and I was all set to impress her father this time with my clean shaven face.

The first day of the training

I was excited to get my offer letter.
Adobe my dream company had hired me.

Two months later I got my joining date.
I was asked to join within a week in the city of dreams -Mumbai. I was a bit nervous as it was my first time staying away from home. Nevertheless I was ready for the next experience of my life.

It was my first day at the training centre in Hiranandani which is considered as one of the most posh areas of Mumbai.
Roman style architecture gives it a royal and classy look.

Our training centre was also built on the same lines.
There were around 8th floors, each one of which had 4 training rooms.

My technology was Java whose training rooms were on 4th floor.
There were around 30 people from my college and another 20 from NIT Bhopal who were part of the same batch.
As we entered the room all the faculties along with HR were waiting for us.
Shefali our HR escorted us to an auditorium which was big enough for 100 people.

For the first 2 hours of induction we were made aware about the do and don’ts in the training centre, our schedule for the training and accommodation details.

Everyone was bored and was literally feeling dizzy.
We were just waiting for the induction to end soon so that we could go to our training rooms.
But suddenly to our surprise, music made its way into the auditorium.
It was one of the most famous songs of the decade- Gangnam style.

All the lazy lads started tapping their feet.
After the song got over Shefali made her way to the podium.

Boys and Girls, I am pretty sure that everyone is surprised and eager to know what actually is happening.
So without puzzling you more let me tell you what we are going to have in next 1 hour.

Like you guys had Mr and Miss fresher in college we will also be having something on similar lines.
The boy and girl who wins will be made the POC (point of contact) for the entire batch.
They will also be entitled for occasional lunch with higher management, 1000 ADOBE stars, free membership of ADOBE sports club and a dinner voucher of TAJ hotel.

Wow !!!
Everyone was delighted to hear the perks winners were going to get.
Further Shefali briefed us about the different stages of the competition.
There were 3 stages in total
1. Written Test.
2. Show your X factor.
3. Personality round.

From 50 people 30 were selected for the X factor round and I was one of them
In X factor round everyone was asked to showcase one of their skills.
It could be dancing, singing, playing a musical instrument etc.
Dancing was one of my passions and I was ready for the challenge.

Finally 5 boys and 5 girls were selected.
I was delighted to be among top 5 but the final stage was the toughest one.
In the personality test we were asked to deal with a client and convince him for a business deal.

10 faculty members were made our clients.
I and one of the guy were successful in convincing our client to the fullest.
Fingers crossed I was eagerly waiting for the results and hear my name announced as the winner.

Finally when the name was announced I was disheartened. It was Rahul who won the competition. We were awarded similar points in all the sections expect grooming, where he scored more than me. On pondering a bit I understood the reason.
The stubble on my face was the culprit. My mom words started resonating in my ears
“Ankit, what jungle have you grown on your face. Learn to be a bit groomed”.

My ungroomed look led me to the second position and made me miss an awesome opportunity. From that day I took a pledge to shave regularly and stay groomed.

MyRoleModel My Dad

He is the person who inspires you
He is the one whom you aspire to be
His life is a book full of chapters
Each one of which is an experience in it
He has struggled , failed and been neglected
But every time he has come out hard,
confronted the obstacles and conquered.

For me he is my father, my guide, my teacher , my role model.
What do we except from a child who is studying in school with a dream of becoming a doctor.
Well for me its just to focus on your studies and do well in all your exams.
But for the man I am talking about, it was not the case.
He had to go to school, post school study for the medical entrance exam and then get back home to cook food for everyone. The reason was really heart wrecking. His mom used to remain ill and sometimes her situation was so bad that she could not even move from her bed.
His dad was a school teacher and used to be busy with his school routines.
One of his elder brother was studying in IIT and the younger one was just interested in roaming around, so the complete responsibility was on him.
Clearing a medical entrance exam with so much responsibility of home was really a daunting task.

Sheer dedication and diligence made him clear it with flying colors. While studying in medical college he lost his mother. It was really difficult to control the sentiments and carry on with his dream but he kept his nerves.
Another responsibility came on his shoulder when he was still studying in medical college, he got married.

When you don't have a mother, you always look forward to your sister-in-laws for that support and care.
But sometimes your good fortune or say good time goes on a long vacation or gets inspired from Kubhkaran and same was my father's case.
Study tension, responsibility toward your wife to make her feel comfortable in her new abode and the baap of all tensions, family tension is too much to endure for a 25 years old boy.
But a man with sheer mental strength, rock solid will power and a very pious heart was ready to face it.
This time luck favored him as my mom was really understanding and stood beside him whenever needed.

There were tantrums, accusations and fights every day. It was really difficult to live in such environment so my parents had to move in a rented house. My father was still doing his MD and getting a stipend of not more than 7-8k. No help was provided by his father, not even of a single penny.

Just in few months he had his last medical exams but something unusual and unfortunate happened.
There was always one student who has to be failed not depending on his performance but his skill of buttering. My dad seriously lacked the much imp skill of buttering and was declared failed.
You can understand the sentiments of a person who has done everything right just to be proved wrong.
Seniors told not to get into fight with the professor because it will call for more trouble and she will make sure that you don't get passed next year too.
My father kept his calm and tried to persuade her, not making her realize that she was wrong and he was right but making her understand the situation he was in, but she gave a damn.

Many people try the easier way of committing suicide when they are neglected by their family and failed in their exams without a reason. But my father was not in this world to give up so easily. He pushed himself for one more year, stayed focused and finally became a doctor.

If I go on to mention how much he has sacrificed for his family, mainly his children to ensure them a bright future will require another 5 pages so won't go into those details.

But I will proudly mention that,
A man who didn't had a single penny in the starting has not only built his own shelter but also ensured Bunglows for his children. A successful doctor and a man with principles is how he is known in Indore. In the whole family, be it paternal or maternal side, he is know for his pious heart, a man without any ego, always ready to forgive and welcome back with open arms.

Whenever I confronted the 4 D's
1. Dishearten
2. Disappointed
3. Disgusted
4. Disapproved
He was the one who gave me the energy to fight back , the never give up spirit.
His life inspires me to follow my dreams, to forgive others, value money and confront every obstacle with a calm mind & smiling face. I owe him a lot and hope to make him proud in every way possible.

When she came..

It was pinch dark and all four of us were a bit frightened.
The forest was desolate, noises creeping around every corner like ghosts.

Suddenly a voice made us jump in air.
It was of female, sexy but haunting. We searched for the source, but found no one around.

As we moved back someone patted us, it was her.
For a moment we were lost.
Pale white skin, blood red plump lips and eyes which looked like a pool of darkness made her look like a goddess.

But something was abnormal and it was her feet. The toes were backward and heel in the front. At once we remembered the story of chudel of the forest which was told by many.

She in a terrifying voice declared.
I will take 3 of you with me leaving just one behind.

After glancing at us she said.
I will leave the clean shaved one behind as he might be of use to some girl alive.
I hate that unclean stubble as every girl does.
So rest 3 of you with dirty stubbles are coming along.

All of sudden I got up. Glad it was a dream.
At once I shaved off my stubble and called my gf to tell her about the good news she always wanted to hear.

Mission Accomplished...

I was awed by her mysterious beauty.
Her oval shaped face had a pale tone to it. Those eyes were like pool of darkness.
Her hairs were cascaded like a waterfall down her back.
An unearthly goddess indeed but I had other things on my mind of utmost importance.

All eyes were on her, the centre of attraction of the party. Few guys tried their luck to woo her
but were badly rejected. Last one looked perfect to me but he too suffered the same treatment. She made a crooked face while pointing to his stubble and I understood the mystery behind the rejection.

Without wasting anytime with full confidence and composure I approached her and asked for a dance. Though I was a handsome guy but it was my clean shaven look that bowled her over.

After dance and drinks, the next destination was her place as her family was out of town.
She went to take a bath and I utilized the time to place my microphones.

She was daughter of a big business tycoon who had alleged relations with underworld.
And I was on a secret mission. Mission Accomplished for today, thanks to the clean shaven look.

My Last Valentine....

This was our first valentine together and I wanted to make it very special for her..
Nikita and I were into relationship from last 6 months and it was a smooth ride for both of us expect for some fights because of my stubble. I so loved it and she thought it to be a Junglee's Pride.

I was totally confused on what to plan and how..? As I opened Facebook, there was a contest by MTV :- "Dare to Love".

It had 2 phases. In first phase the participant had to send his true love story to MTV and if they liked it then you will be shortlisted for the top 10 couples who were going to compete for a grand prize of 4 D/3N in Bali,Indonesia.

I was super excited as I knew that my love story was the most interesting of all I have known till date and we would definitely get selected for the 2nd phase...(Well my love story is too big..so may be in some other post I will narrate it in detail...:P)

Quickly I typed in the whole love drama of my life and mailed it to MTV.
Results were going to be announced in 2 days. I used to refresh my mail box N no of times everyday to check for a mail from MTV. Even I used to have hopes from my Spam box.

Finally on the 4th day results were declared and I was on cloud 9 to find our name in it.
I had kept this contest as a secret from Nikita , so now was the time to reveal it.
She had a big smile on her face when I told her about the contest, its prize and the fact that we were among the top 10 couple competing for it.
We are heading to GOA so pack your bags sweetheart.

She leaned forward to plant a kiss on my cheek...Ouch.!! she shouted in pain.
What happened baby? ,I asked. Damn, your stubble, it’s so rough and prickly.
I have told many times earlier too that I don’t like that stubble of yours. It feels so irritating just to touch your face. Why on the earth can’t you be clean shaven.
I hope this stubble doesn't ruin the fun we will be having in GOA.

Keeping stubble was in fashion. Gals used to go flat on celebrities like Brat Pitt, Abhishek Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan who kept a stubble. Even nikita considered them as sexy, than what was the problem with me; it was really hard to understand.

It was 11th Feb and we were off to Goa.
We reached around 11 a.m. on 12th and as expected MTV had made a grand arrangement for us.
To our surprise the host for phase 2 was Yami Gautam. She was looking drop dead gorgeous in her black top and blue shorts.

She congratulated us for being selected as the top 10 couples who would now be competing for the ultimate grand prize.
Next she elaborated on the proceedings of the phase 2.
We will be having 3 rounds.
1.     Best you can do together
2.     Trust your partner
3.     Endure for your partner

In the 1st round we will be having a dare where the couple has to perform together something, the best they can. Only 4 couples will go ahead.
Next round is called Trust your partner where u will be having a dare in which your compatibility and comfort with your partner will come handy.
And the final round is called Endure for your partner where one partner has to suffer the pain ,fear, anything terrifying till his/her partner completes the given task.

So guys get prepared for ultimate fun, adventure and of course pain. This is the test of your love, trust and compatibility with each other.
I will meet you right here in the “Love Battle Ground” after 5 hours. So get yourself prepared with the best you can show us.

We came to our room and started discussing on what all options we have in our kitty.
Dancing was a passion for both of us and hence we decided to do a salsa.

5 hours had gone and the stage was all set for the couples to rock.
Judges for the day were Diya Mirza, Arjun Rampal and Farah Khan.
We had some gr88 dance performances, heart touching duet songs, couple of stand up comedy acts and even delicious Italian and Mexican cuisine prepared by some.
Nikita and I gave our best and showed a gr88 level of comfort.
It was indeed a neck to neck competition. Results were announced after 2 hours and we nearly had a heart attack , when our named was announced as the last couple to be selected.
The feeling was awesome as we were just a step away from winning the grand prize.

There were no more eliminations now. The next round was on 13th around 8 in the morning so we slept early to be fresh and ready for the dare.

All the 4 couples gathered in the “Love Battle Ground” for the next round
Trust your partner.

Yami as usual looked sensational in her red color one piece.
She greeted us and quickly briefed about the dare we will be performing in this round.
The dare was quite thrilling. We had to cling together and were tied by a rope which pulled us back. There was also a water canon which would bombard water missiles to keep us away. Once the couple got separated they were out of the dare. The couple who clung together the maximum amount of time, won. It looked like we were going to have tremendous fun.

I and Nikita were the 1st couple to perform the dare. It demanded strong will power, tough bodies and trust on each other. We were quite sure of winning it as we had the above qualities.
The dare started very well and I thought it to be a cake walk. As the force of the pulling ropes increased we held each other tightly. I got lost in the fragrance of her body, the feel of her soft skin took me to a different world altogether.

I was brought to my senses by her loud scream...Ouch.!!!
She pulled herself away and unfortunately we were out of the dare...
She was hurt, but how? , what happened?
When I tried to ask her but she drew her hand away and ran.
I was awed by her reaction. I tried to contemplate what went wrong, some mistake from my side, but couldn't find any.

Other couples performed quite well. We were at the last position. I was very much upset and disappointed not only to find our name at the bottom of the list but also because of Nikita’s behavior. I went to my room to start a conversation but in vain, the door was shut and there was no response from her. It was 12 a.m. and the valentine day had already started , but still she didn't even care to talk to me. I was really agitated, but somehow managed to pacify myself as we had another round to go and our victory which was looking nearly impossible, depended completely on how we performed in it.

We had become friends with one of the couple, Ajay and Divya, so I went to their room. Nikita and Divya gelled well together, so I tried to ask her, if she knew what had happened?
She just told me one thing; take this Gillette shave gel and remove your stubble by tomorrow morning.

Suddenly the whole picture became quite clear to me. It was my stubble which has caused all the chaos. If I was clean shaven we could have won the round.
And the worst thing, it was because of this stubble I was craving for that valentine kiss, that warm hug, the touch of her soft skin and her love which I needed the most in my life.

It was valentine morning. All the couples were having a gr88 time except me who was paying the price for being so apathetic to her agitation, talks, advice and suggestion about my stubble.
I couldn't figure out what to do next and to add to my trouble the 3rd round was going to start at 3 p.m and it was already 1..Finally an idea stuck my mind.
I shaved, clicked a pic of mines and transferred it to Divya’s mobile.
Then I wrote a letter and requested her to forward both of them to Nikita.

My Sweetheart Niks,

I would be the only BF in this world who is craving so much , just to even see his GF's face on this Valentine day.I know, I am an idiot who doesn't listen to your talks but now I have realized my mistake. I am really sorry for what all had happened and I promise to never let you down.
You are my soul and I can't live without it. I would die if I don't get a JADU KI JHAPPI from you in next 1 hour. I want to win this contest with you my angel, please come back baby..:(

Your Idiot
Ankit

I was standing at the door with Divya to see the response. Finally after 15 mins the door opened and Nikita came out with the letter.
You know Mr Idiot, I will definitely kill you the next time,I see a stubble on that face. Saying that she hugged me so tightly that even air had no chance to pass.

Both of ours eyes were wet.
When our eyes meet I could read this message in them..."I had to do this Ankit as it was the only way to make u understand the pain I feel, everytime I kiss that junglee area of yours. It was so difficult for me to even get close to you.."

So finally everything was sorted out and we were all set for round 3.
At 3 p.m all the couples gathered for the last time in the Love Battle Ground”.
For the first time I didn't even notice Yami as winning the contest was the only thing I had in my mind.
So guys are u ready for the final round, asked her. A loud cheer from all the couples was the response. Gr88, I am so happy to see your enthusiasm and that killer feeling to win the grand prize. So here is your dare.

One of the partner has to solve a Jigsaw puzzle and the other partner will be put inside a glass box full of snakes  After 1 min more of these venomous creatures will be put in. There are 25 pieces in this Jigsaw puzzle , the couple which takes minimum time in solving it , wins.

Unfortunately this time too we were the first couple to compete.
I was terrified by seeing those deadly snakes but than I was determined to endure it for her.

Nikita was good at solving puzzles which was a bonus for us.

As the dare started I was made to lay inside the glass and Big pythons ,cobras and vipers were spread all over me. I kept my nerves and lay still.

To everyone's surprise Nikita solved it in just 4 mins. We were really happy by our performance.
Next 2 couples were disqualified as they were too scared to try the dare and hence dropped out of the contest. Now it was left between us and our friends Ajay and Divya.

Divya took 10 mins to solve the puzzle. As they came 3rd in the previous round , it was a tough call to choose the winner.
Finally the results came and Boy..O Boy...I jumped 5 feet in the air on listening it.
We were the winners...yes we were the winners of the grand prize, 4 D/3N in Bali,Indonesia.
I just did it for you , I told her. Before I could say anything else , her lips were on mines . I so so so badly wanted it..

It was 6 in the eve and the stubble of mines had made me crave for complete 18 hours of Valentine Day.

Four of us celebrated the win together in a nearby 5 star hotel. We ate, danced and got drunk for next 3 hours. The clock struck 10 and we were finally in our room.
I undressed myself quickly, went to the bathroom and took the Gillette shave gel. As i was about to start shaving, there was a  knock at the door. Nikita was standing there in her sexiest black color nighty. She came in ,took the gel, slowly applied it to my face and moved the razor gently.
After the shaving session ended , it was time for............hmmm........well.........that's secret..:P
Nwys we had a great time together in the bathroom as well as on our trip to Bali...:)

From that day onward I have made it a rule to shave daily, even twice a day also.
Because now I have know the consequences, if she can make me crave on Valentine day, lets not talk about what she can do on normal days...
