Road trip from Charlotte to Washington DC - Independence day..!!

The route from Charlotte to Washington DC is among one of the best I have seen.
Beautiful views start as we touch West Virginia and then the stretch continues till Washington DC.
Scenic forests, Foggy mountains, light drizzling and beautiful terrain all around.

This was the first time we drove for 2 consecutive nights.
Also this was one of the most adventurous drive of my life as it was raining heavily with lot of fog around and all I could see were the white lines on the road.

As July 4th is celebrated as Independence Day in US we got the opportunity to see some amazing fireworks too..

A photo tour - Disney Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland was the last themed land that we visited in Magic Kingdom.
As the name suggests it features attractions which depict views of the future and how things will take shape in the coming years.

                                                                   Credits - Here

We started my trip of Tomorrowland with Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.
The ride is based on the movie, Toy Story 2.

It is a shooting ride where guests are made to sit in a vehicle having capacity of 2 and provided with laser guns. There is also a joystick in the vehicle which provides 360 degree rotation.
Various targets carrying different points show up during the ride which have to be hit by the laser gun. At the end of the ride a digital score flashes on the screen. I was able to earn 25,000 points making me a Planetary Pilot :)

Next in line was Space Mountain, an indoor outer space themed roller coaster.
The ride happens in dark with lot of ups & downs, twists & turns.
Overall it is a nice experience.

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, was our next attraction.
The guests are made to sit in hall which moves from one phase of time to another. The attraction shows the technological advances made during 20th century through an American family.

"There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow", song is played after each shift of time phase.
It was ok types, nothing that great.

Our last attraction for the day was PeopleMover, a ride which takes the guests on a tour of various attractions in Tomorrowland.
It was a good 10 minutes ride where we were able to relax a bit.

As we were short of time so we couldn't cover the remaining attractions which are as below

In Autopia we drive specially designed cars in an enclosed area.

Astro Orbitor is a rock spinner attraction in which there are 12 planet shaped containers in which guests are made to sit. These containers are attached to a central tower shaped structure and spin round and round. The ascent and descent of the container can be controlled by the guests with a control stick.

Stitch's Great Escape! is an attraction which is high on special effects.
Guests are made to sit in a round theatre starring the Little Alien from Disney's animated comedy Lilo & Stitch. The show is know for usage of laser cannons, light effects, smoke and hydraulic pumps.

The last attraction , Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is a digital puppetry show.

It was an epic time exploring the attractions of Magic Kingdom. Anyone who loves creativity, innovation and has an anxiety to explore new things should definitely visit it once in their lifetime.

A photo tour - Disney Magic Kingdom - Liberty Square

After covering almost all the fronts in Frontierland it was time to check out the next themed land, Liberty Square.
This themed land is exclusive to the Magic Kingdom.

Attractions include replica of Liberty Bell & Liberty Tree, Hall of Presidents, Liberty Belle Riverboat and Haunted Mansion.

As we were out of time so we decided to go for the best attraction of all, The Haunted Mansion.
We were excited to see how different it was, as normally I found such attractions very boring.
As the Haunted Mansion was huge, so I was looking forward to see a lot of things happening inside.
As we entered the mansion we were taken to a room were a ghost voice welcomed us in a mocking manner. The door was closed by itself.
There were scary paintings all over the room. Also the lights were going on and off. There was a time when the room actually stretched vertically. The audio effects were awesome.
Suddenly the wall in front of us opened and we were ushered to the entrance hall.

One by one black carriages or doombuggies emerges out of the dark which was so creative.
I loved the way those buggies were built.
For the next 15 minutes we were taken on a tour of the haunted mansion on those buggies.
The best thing about them was they used to rotate in sync with whatever was happening around us.

To be very frank I was not at all disappointed after I reached the exit.
I will not disclose what happened for those 15 minutes as it will kill the suspense.
Overall it is definitely a must try attraction.

Hall of presidents as the name suggests sounded nothing interesting so we didn't go for it.

If you have time, definitely try Liberty Belle Riverboat which provides excellent views of the artificial river built in Frontierland known as Rivers of America and also Tom Sawyer Island.
